Loadhog, Sheffield-based transit packaging innovator, has been identified by the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMECHE) as one of the country’s best manufactures.
Loadhog, creator of the Pally & Lid and Smartstak systems which are revolutionising the global-wide supply chain, has been short-listed in six of the nine categories in the Institution’s 2011 Manufacturing Excellence (MX) Awards scheme, designed to assess and celebrate the UK’s outstanding manufacturing.
After submitting an in-depth self assessment, Loadhog was put through the Innovation Products and Processes; Logistics and Operational Efficiency; People Effectiveness; Financial Management; Sustainable Manufacturingand Best Partnership with Education categories. In the awards’ initial stage, Yorkshire is the most successful region, with Rotherham-based AESSEAL and Agfa Graphics in Leeds also reaching the shortlist.
In common with all the shortlisted companies, Loadhog will now be assessed on-site in all the categories in which it has been listed, with the final winners being announced at the MX Awards ceremony in Noverber. Ed Stubbs, Loadhog’s Manging Director, said: “Having only relocated our entire operation into a far larger premises late last year, it is particularly pleasing to have gained such wide ranging recognition now. Whether we win an award or not, the assessment process will be a valuable learning exercise for the company and being shortlisted is great regcognition for all our employees. I am delighted that Loadhog is associated with the shortlisted manufactures in Yorkshire.”
