How Autotote 6545 optimised Auchan Luxembourg’s automated warehouse with Exotec

As grocery retailers face growing pressure to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency across fulfilment operations, we partnered with Exotec to modernise Auchan Luxembourg’s Dudelange distribution centre through advanced warehouse automation.
The project focused on improving storage density, streamlining order preparation and dispatch, and reducing manual handling for employees – all while supporting operations across four temperature zones: dry, fresh, frozen, and fruit & vegetables.
Smart storage for smart automation
At the core of the solution were 15,400 Autotote 6545 containers – manufactured from 100% recycled material, equipped with 15,400 medium dividers, seamlessly integrated into Exotec’s automated warehouse system. The dividers allow totes to be split into compartments, maximising SKU density while maintaining structural rigidity to protect goods during robotic handling.
Our product enabled Auchan to store more products within the same footprint, improving space utilisation while keeping workflows fast and organised.
