Guys & St Thomas’ NHS Trust - Loadhog

Guys & St Thomas’ NHS Trust

“The Loadhog Pallys have proved invaluable to move a wide range of supplies and medical equipment securely to each site and into Wards and Theatres. The team and clinical colleagues much prefer the Pallys over roll-cages as they are quieter and less visually intrusive within the hospital. As well as a great product, it’s good to be able to support an employee owned UK manufacturer with a strong focus on sustainability.”

Outcome

1,300m2

Critical space freed up within hospitals

Benefits Experienced

Increased Efficiency

The new system has reduced the number of pieces of equipment being moved in the hospital, with 80% of single use packaging, such as cardboard and bags, removed and handled at the consolidation centre.

Maximise Vehicle Fill

The Pally Containers & Half Euro Lids are double stacked in the vehicles to maximise fill, and then linked together via tow hitches at the hospitals, making a train of units for each floor.

Huge Space Saving

Consolidating deliveries at the hub into Pally Containers has freed up 1,300 sq. metres of space within the hospitals.

CO2 Reduction

With only four vehicles per day delivered into GSTT from the hub every evening, there is a significant reduction in carbon emissions and congestion in Central London.
